Medical Receptionist – Edinburgh


Responds to incoming telephone calls. Takes messages when appropriate and schedules appointments. Completes the registration process and distributes new information packets. Collects patient co-pays or other payments. Acts as liaison between consumers and visitors. Monitors the waiting area and maintains neatness in that area. Does daily mail distribution. Informs medical providers of upcoming schedules, patients, or scheduled meetings. High School graduate or GED required. Previous training in customer service skills related to telephone and/or service desk preferred. Two (2) years of work experience as a receptionist or service desk attendant in a health care service delivery setting preferred. Experience with interpreting/translating as well as a certification as a Medical Interpreter preferred.Working knowledge of at least one word processing software package (preferably MS Word) and one spreadsheet development software package (preferably MS Excel or MS Access). A working knowledge of at least one electronic medical record (EMR) is preferred.
